One app, every vetting regime

Whatever you command, the checklist already knows it.

Pick your ship type once. SeaReady reshapes itself around the inspection regime that actually boards you — questions, evidence, drills and documents.

Tankers

SIRE 2.0

Chapter-by-chapter readiness against the SIRE 2.0 question library, with human-element evidence prompts and photo requirements mapped to every compartment.

Bulk carriers

RightShip

Close out the gaps inspectors actually find: hatch covers, hold condition, ballast records and the documentation trail that drives your vetting outcome.

Chemical tankers

CDI / SIRE 2.0

Cargo system integrity, PPE readiness and the specialised questions that come with parcel trades — tracked chapter by chapter across both schemes.

Gas carriers (LNG & LPG)

SIRE 2.0

IGC Code Certificate of Fitness, cargo containment, ESD tests, gas detection calibration and boil-off management — a dedicated gas track on top of the 12 SIRE 2.0 chapters.

Offshore

OVID

DP trials, FMEA awareness and the operational evidence offshore inspectors expect, organised around the OVIQ4 question set and filtered for your vessel’s work and equipment.

Passenger & all flags

PSC · Paris MoU · USCG

Port State Control preparation that works for any vessel — your risk profile worked out the Paris MoU way, a dedicated USCG prep for US port calls, detainable deficiency patterns, certificate windows and drill evidence in one place.

AI Mock Inspector

Rehearse the inspection before the inspector boards.

A tireless sparring partner that questions you the way a vetted inspector would — probing the human element, asking for evidence, and following up when an answer is thin. Run it in the saloon, the ship's office, or mid-watch.

  • Regime-aware questioning tuned to your vessel type
  • Follow-up probes when answers lack evidence
  • Debrief that maps weak answers back to checklist chapters

Steering switches to non-follow-up, helmsman called to standby, master and engine room informed immediately…
Good. Now — where is that procedure written down, and when did the crew last drill it?
Inspector is weighing your answer…

No signal required

Every checklist, drill and certificate lives on the device. VSAT down? Nothing changes.

Readiness score

A live percentage per chapter, so the whole bridge team knows where the ship stands.

Photo evidence cycle

Compartment photographs tracked on a six-month rotation, exactly how inspectors ask for them.

Zone walkthrough

Self-inspect the ship zone by zone — bridge to steering gear — the way an inspector actually walks it. Switch to the last-48-hours sweep before the inspection.

One-tap report

Capture on your phone on deck, then print a branded PDF report — score, findings, photos, sign-off — from the ship's office computer.

Rest hours & drills

Watchkeeping compliance and drill cadence in the same place as your inspection prep.

Built for life aboard

Middle of the Indian Ocean. No signal. Full readiness.

Prepare inspections, record drills and keep evidence on your device. AI, live information and syncing between devices need internet; offline changes wait until it returns.

How offline use, syncing and updates work

Inspections don't happen at the office — they happen after a pilot ladder, often at the end of a long passage. SeaReady is offline-first: install it once and it works in the steering gear room, the forecastle store, or 2,000 miles from the nearest coast. Core preparation works without a signal; AI and live online information need internet. If you set up a ship account, the ship's file and its photos and voice notes sync across the ship's own phones through our server — so they sync over the ship's Wi-Fi whenever it has internet (VSAT or Starlink) and in port; with no internet, each phone holds its changes until the connection returns. Personal records stay yours, and the office only ever sees summary numbers.

Kept up to date, every week

Inspection rules, campaigns and regulations keep changing. We check OCIMF, RightShip, CDI, OVID, IMO and the PSC regimes (Paris and Tokyo MOU, USCG) every week and update the app, so you never miss a change. To pick up an update your phone only needs a connection for a moment — in port, on the ship's Wi-Fi or on VSAT. It downloads quickly in the background and everything keeps working offline afterwards.

Works on iPhone and Android: on iPhone open seaready.net in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, tap Install app.

How it works onboard — 4 steps & crew / Master / shore boundaries
  1. Set up vessel & rank: pick ship type, flag, class society and your rank (Vessel setup guide).
  2. Add or import the inspection: create a planned visit (SIRE 2.0, RightShip, CDI, OVID, BIQ5, PSC MoU, USCG, Flag or Class) or import a past PDF report (My inspections guide).
  3. Prepare by chapter or zone walk: answer questions, attach dated compartment photos and track open findings (Zone walk guide).
  4. Verify close-out & print the dated report: the Master verifies completed findings and prints the readiness or closed inspection report with retained item notes and photo evidence (Inspection report guide).
Crew & OfficersPrepare assigned chapters and zones. Personal rest hours, sea service, training log and personal certificates stay private to your own account when you sign off.
MasterIssues join and handover codes, sets rank edit rights, verifies finding close-outs and controls the shared ship file (Ship account).
Shore / CompanySees only fleet readiness summaries, certificate expiry alerts and open finding counts on /shore — never private crew records or unshared drafts.

Every inspection screen shows its primary-source check date and whether checklist coverage for that flag, class society or domestic subchapter is full or partial.

Preview = you can open the officer tools and see how they work, read-only; Officer Pro or a ship licence switches them on. Prices are in US dollars + 5% sales tax. Ship licence: up to 10 people per ship (add packs of 10, each $719 a month or $7,199 a year + 5% sales tax). AI: 100 questions a day per phone, and the ship shares 1,000 a day (100 per seat — each extra pack of 10 adds 1,000). Rest hours for other crew are kept only on a ship licence — personal plans keep your own record. AI limits reset at midnight UTC. Buy here, or later in Settings → Account & devices → Plans & billing.

30-day money-back guarantee: your first paid plan — monthly or yearly — is refunded in full if you ask within 30 days of paying (tap "Ask for a refund" in the app; the day you tap counts, even offline). Double AI is not refundable once used; one refund per person and per ship. Terms.

Why the prices differ — devices, fair use and crew changes

Why three prices?

AI is the only thing that costs us money every time it is used, so AI is the only thing we charge for. Crew is a small daily allowance for anyone aboard. Officer Pro is four times that, plus the officer tools an inspection turns on. A ship licence serves up to 10 people per ship (add packs of 10), each with 100 questions a day (1,000 a day for the whole ship, 1,000 more for each extra pack of 10), and adds things only a ship needs: the inspection file stays with the IMO number when the crew changes, the Master controls who is aboard and on which devices, and the company office can see readiness without anyone ashore needing the app.

Fair use

Crew 25 and Officer Pro 100 AI questions per person per day; ship licence 100 per enrolled device and 100 per seat for the whole ship per day (1,000 for 10 seats), whichever comes first. Resets at midnight UTC. Automated checks flag shared logins or scripted use; abusive accounts are suspended, the free core keeps working.

Devices

Personal account: 2 devices (e.g. phone and laptop). Ship licence: up to 10 people per ship (add packs of 10, $719/month each + 5% sales tax). Devices unused for 30 days are flagged so the Master can free the slot in one tap.

30-day money-back guarantee

Not for you? Your first paid plan is refunded in full if you ask within 30 days of paying — monthly or yearly, Crew, Officer Pro or a ship licence. One refund per person and per ship; Double AI not refundable once used.

Crew changes

Crew leave with one tap: the ship file leaves their devices, their own records stay with them. The outgoing Master hands over with a single-use handover code. If the Master is already gone, the office or SeaReady reassigns the ship. Nobody is ever double-charged.

How to get the AI

Crew & officers

Tap Buy monthly or Buy yearly on Crew or Officer Pro: create your free account (or sign in), then press Subscribe. Or buy later in the app under Settings → Account & devices → Plans & billing. AI switches on after payment and follows you from ship to ship.

Masters

Set up your ship by IMO in the app, invite the crew with a join code, then buy the ship licence under Settings → Account & devices → Plans & billing — or, if your office bought it, type the link code it sends you under Settings → Vessel & crew → Company link code.

Companies

On seaready.net/company: company name, e-mail and your ships' IMO numbers. After payment you receive a licence key and one link code per ship by e-mail, automatically; each Master types it in once under Settings → Vessel & crew → Company link code. No accounts needed ashore.

Questions mariners ask

We already have a planned maintenance system (PMS). Why use SeaReady?

Your PMS manages the maintenance work: equipment registers, jobs due by date or running hours, defects, job history and, depending on the package, spares and purchasing. SeaReady helps the Master and crew prepare for an inspection: ship-type checklists, what to demonstrate and which evidence to find, zone walks, dated readiness checks, findings, reports and mock interviews. Saved preparation works offline; AI needs a connection. There is overlap: wider fleet suites such as ShipManager and BASSnet also offer inspection, audit and compliance modules. SeaReady is useful if your existing system leaves a gap in practical crew preparation, portable access or interview practice. If it already meets those needs, another app may add little value. SeaReady complements your company systems; it is not a replacement PMS or a guarantee of passing an inspection.

Is SeaReady free?

Yes. The free plan is free for ever with no card: every checklist question to read (answer a free sample in each chapter), your own rest hours, your own certificates, drills, calculators, crew tools, a sample of the oral exam questions and a limited number of printed reports a month (your own rest-hour record always prints free). Paid plans (Crew from $39.99 a month + 5% sales tax) let you answer every checklist question and add the AI features.

Does SeaReady work offline at sea?

Yes. SeaReady keeps your data on the phone, so checklists, rest hours, certificates, drills, calculators and saved training videos all work without a signal. Only the AI features, the weather forecast, signing in, keeping your devices in sync and sharing the ship file between phones need a connection; they catch up the next time you are online. Each phone keeps the inspection content that can apply to its ship: OVID only on offshore vessels, and the Flag, Class, US-flag and yacht preparation packs once a Flag or Class inspection, a US-flag USCG inspection or a commercial yacht inspection is planned. USCG port State control for ships calling at the US is always kept. Settings → Backup & offline shows what is kept and has a “Keep everything offline” switch. Your plan works at sea too: a paid plan keeps going offline for 7 days past its paid-until date, a trial ends on its end date, and a phone needs to connect at least once every 30 days to keep its paid features. When you are back online the app checks your plan straight away.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new account gets a 14-day free trial, with no card: try the AI features, the officer tools and ship-file sharing. It starts when you confirm your e-mail address with the 6-digit code we send you, and it is one per phone and per e-mail address (a second account on the same phone goes straight to the free plan). Every new ship also gets one 14-day ship trial when its Master adds it; each IMO number gets one ship trial, ever.

What does the shore office or company see?

Numbers and dates: the readiness score, open critical items, certificate expiry dates, how many rest-hour breach days there were, open findings, the planned inspections, inspections done in the last 90 days (type, date, port and outcome) and the ship health counts, including the expiry dates (not the documents) of crew certificates such as passport or medical certificate, by rank. It also sees the names and ranks of the people aboard, the Master’s name, and the name and rank of whoever last synced the ship’s figures. The office screens never show checklist answers, notes, photos, e-mail addresses, pay, identity documents, diaries, anyone’s individual rest hours or medical records. One exception, only for a company whose company licence covers the ship (the company holds the ship’s records through that licence): it can download the ship’s whole history. That download holds the ship’s present state in full (Ship particulars and the checklist answers with their notes), the dated records (findings, certificates, drills, permits and the other ship records) and the change history from the time the ship has been linked to that company, and photo references (file names, not the pictures); medical lines, ID and document numbers, personal notes, pay and individual rest hours are taken out. Every download is written in the ship’s export log, which the Master sees. A company without that licence cannot download it.

Is the SIRE 2.0 question wording official?

No. SeaReady writes its own preparation questions and guidance in plain English and is not affiliated with OCIMF, RightShip, CDI, any MoU or the USCG. Always check against the current official documents.
